Session 3— August 2012
New Testament Survey. This survey of the entire New Testament is designed to give an understanding of God’s desires and plans that were revealed in the Old Testament, but were fulfilled in the New Testament through the earthly ministry of Jesus and the continuation of that work by the Church. Reading assignments will include “New Testament Survey” and select books from the Bible.
What It Means To Be A Christian. What is non-negotiable for a Christian? What can I not compromise on? What should be a Christian’s world view? What should be a Christian’s standard of behavior? Since we are told continually in Scripture to endure to the end, what are the key issues to which we must hold firm in the process of “enduring”? Find answers to these questions and more in this exciting course.
Session 4— October 2012
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit. The purpose of this class is to make the student aware of the reality of and the purpose of the Holy Spirit’s presence in the life of each believer. As the third Person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit is often misunderstood. He is God, yet He dwells in each and every believer, and He was given to us to lead and empower us to an overcoming life of Godliness, Holiness, and Truth. This course is an enlightening encounter with the Person and Ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer and Fasting. Intimacy with God can only be achieved by spending time with Him. God is looking for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. This is not a Sunday morning expectation, but a lifestyle, as exemplified by the life of Jesus. This class will provide the student with the tools and inspiration to press in to His presence, pray without ceasing, and experience life changing intimacy with God.
Sessions 5 through 8—2013
Second year classes will bring further revelation and insight into ministry within the local body of believers and in the world in which we live.
